KP Mahamanou Oil & Gas Limited was established in 1974 with the mission of serving the Lower Texas Gulf Coast by providing high-quality refined products. Initially, the company focused on supplying gasoline, diesel, and specialized fuels tailored to the needs of the fishing industry and small independent service stations.
At the time, oil prices were anticipated to rise to 50 per barrel,making the expansion economically viable. However,the market experience significant collapse,with oil prices plum meting to allow of 50 per barrel. This drastic decline in oil prices rendered the project economically unsustainable, forcing KP Mahamanou Oil & Gas Limited to put the expansion plans on hold.

Under the new leadership, the company collaborated with the Brownsville Port Authority and Kerr McGee Engineering to conduct extensive studies aimed at expanding the facility’s refining capacity from 25,000 barrels per day to 125,000 barrels per day. This ambitious project was projected to cost over 4 billion United States dollars.
Despite this setback, KP Mahamanou Oil & Gas Limited remained resilient, adapting to market fluctuations and continuing to deliver high-quality refined products to its clients.
